Kube Nightclub, Tamworth

Hother Associates acted for Namco Operations Europe Limited as Quantity Surveyors, Employer's Agent and Planning Supervisors on the fitting out of their extended and refurbished nightclub in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

The existing nightclub on this site was beginning to become a little "tired" and this was starting to be reflected in attendance numbers and takings. Namco took the decision to give the whole place a substantial re-fit and to re-brand and target it at Stamford's younger set.

With an extremely tight contract period of 14 weeks and a fully occupied and operational bowling alley below, this challenging project was completed successfully on time and to budget.

The nightclub provides five bars, two separate dancing floors and a special VIP area. It also boasts a state of the art sound and lighting system all controlled from one of two DJ cockpits.

One particular challenge was posed to us by the local authority, who took the opportunity to impose increased acoustic restrictions on the venue. Complex and specialist acoustic hangers were incorporated within the club's existing ceiling structure, whilst the club itself was fitted out below. With successful readings being achieved just prior to opening, all parties were happy.
